Dr. Zhu Liu is an Associate Professor at Tsinghua University and Research Fellow at Harvard University. Zhu’s research focuses on global sustainability and the assessment of the human impacts on the earth system in terms of greenhouse gas emissions. He hold Ph.D. in Ecology from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (2013) with joint training by University of Cambridge (2012).

Dr. Jiashuo Li is a Professor at the School of Blue and Green Development, Shandong University (Weihai). His research focuses on greenhouse gas emissions and mercury emissions accounting, Input-output analysis and environmental impacts analysis for energy systems. He has published over 30 papers in JCR Q1 and Q2 peer-reviewed journals, such as Nature communications, Renewable & Sustainable Energy Reviews, Applied Energy and Energy Policy, with an H index of 38 of his articles were listed in the ESI highly cited papers or ESI hot papers, and two were listed in Elsevier Most Cited Articles. He is the PI of a NSFC and provincial level research project (Hubei). He was awarded the 2016 Young Scholars Outstanding Paper Award of the Regional Science Association of China, the Innovation award of Peking University.


Dr. Ya Zhou is a Professor at School of Management, Guangdong University of Technology, as well as a research fellow at Big Data Strategic Research Institute, GDUT. She was a visiting scholar at University of East Anglia from Nov. 2017 to Nov. 2018. Her research interests include environmental system analysis, big data analytics and environmental footprint, and sustainable development. She has published about 40 papers in peer-reviewed journals. She was awarded National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), as well as Humanities and Social Science Foundation in Ministry of Education of China as principal investigator.


Dr Zhifu Mi is a Professor at The Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction, University College London (UCL). He was a Senior Research Associate in Climate Change Economics at University of East Anglia and a Senior Researcher at Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research. He has published over 80 papers in peer-reviewed journals, such as Science Advances, Nature Geoscience, and Nature Communications. He was awarded the 2018 World Sustainability Award, the 2017 Best Early Career Article in Environmental Research Letters, and the 2016 Highly Cited Original Paper in Applied Energy. He is an Associate Editor for Journal of Cleaner Production.


Dr Jing Meng is a Associate Professor at The Bartlett School of Sustainable construction, University College London. Prior to that, she was a Researcher at Department of Land Economy, University of Cambridge and a Senior Research Associate in the School of Environmental Sciences, University of East Anglia (UEA) and a Research Fellow at Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research. Her research focused on climate change policy, air pollution, and sustainable development pathway. She has a proven track record of high quality publications (over 110 articles) in international peer reviewed journals, such as Nature Climate Change, Nature Communications, Proceedings of the Royal Society A, Environmental Science and Technology (ES&T), and Applied Energy.


Dr. Qiaoling Liu is an Associate Professor at University of International Business and Economics. She got her doctor degree from Peking University in 2015 and then worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the National School of Development of Peking University for two years. She was a visiting scholar at University of California, Berkeley and University of East Anglia. Her main research interests are environmental economics, international trade and environment. She has published more than ten articles in domestic and international journals such as Ecological Economics, Science of the Total Environment, Journal of Cleaner Production, Environmental Science & Policy, Statistical Research, China Population Resources and Environment, and Northeast Asia Forum.


Dr. Li Li, Associate Professor of Economics and Management College and master tutor in China University of Geosciences in Beijing, is mainly engaged in environmental economy and energy economy, etc. She has published more than 30 academic papers and has 13 SCI/SSCI papers as the first author. She currently presides over one project funded from Natural Science Foundation of China and one project of the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities.


Dr. Yuli Shan is a Associate Professor at Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences at Birmingham University and a research fellow at the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research. He was awarded as a “Green Talent” by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research in 2018, and won the Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Students Abroad in 2016. His work focuses on emission accounting, climate change economics, and sustainable development. He has published over 80 papers, and has been covered by several media including Reuters, Financial Times, Xinhua News Agency, People’s Network, etc.


Dr. Yang Xia is Senior Academic Editor of Nature. She has held a doctorate degree in Ecological Economics at school of International Development, University of East Anglia. Her research focuses on environmental health risk analysis, climate change, environmental economics and sustainability.


Dr. Zhao Zeng is an Associate Researcher, School of Management and Economics, Tianjin University, and an affiliate member at Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research. She obtained a PhD in Climate Change and Economics from University of East Anglia in December 2018 and specializes in flood footprint and water footprint assessment. Her PhD work mainly focused on ‘methodology and applications of flood footprint accounting for determining flood induced economic costs cascading throughout production supply chains.


Jiamin Ou is a Post-doc at School of International Development, University of East Anglia. Her research interests include the consumption-based accounting for greenhouse gases and air pollutants, and their linkages with climate and air quality model. She has co-authored in over 20 peer-reviewed papers and first-authored in 5 papers in Environmental Science & Technology, Applied Energy, Atmospheric Environment and Science of the Total Environment. She was a participant of the 2018 Young Scientists Summer Programme, hosted by International Institute for Applied System Analysis (IIASA), and received funding from Natural Environment Research Council, UK.  


Heran Zheng is a Lecturer at The Bartlett School of Sustainable construction, University College London. He specializes in city-level low carbon transition, urban sustainability, and city level input-output methodology construction. He has published more than 20 peer-reviewed paper.


Zhenyu Wang is a Post-doc majored in urban economics at Tsinghua University. He mainly did economic growth and its policy analysis in his prophase work, and now he is interested in economics of climate change and focus on measuring emissions embodied in international trade.


Xian Li has been a Postgraduate Researcher at UEA-SUSTech (University of East Anglia-Southern University of Science and Technology) split-site programme since 2017 after being awarded her master’s degree at Loughborough University. She compiles China’s water inventories at national-, provincial- and city-level, and conducts research with regard to their applications. She also attempts to explore water-energy nexus and has had her first research paper published at Applied Energy.


Zongyong Zhang is a Ph.D. Candidate in 2017. He is in a joint program with Southern University of Science and Technology in China. He obtained his Bachelor degree from Northwest A&F University in 2013 and his Master degree from Beijing Institute of Technology in 2017. He focuses on the construction of China's water inventory, including water use, industrial reused water consumption, wastewater discharge, principal water pollutants (COD and Ammonia Nitrogen) at the city, province, and nation level. He is good at applying statistics and econometrics to analyze environmental and energy consumption issues.


Jing Tian is a Ph.D. Student at School of International Development, University of East Anglia. Her research interests are about CO2 emission inventory development, low carbon city development and environmental multi-regional input-output analysis. Before studying at UEA, she majored in Energy and Climate Economics with her postgraduate thesis “Research on impacts of economics system on CO2 emissions and countermeasures for CO2 reduction at the city level : A case study of Beijing”, and graduated from Beijing Institute of Technology.


Daoping Wang is the André Hoffmann Fellow for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) at Hughes Hall, in partnership with the World Economic Forum, and is based in the department of Computer science at the University of Cambridge. He works with academics from the Department of Computer Science and Technology and the Judge Business School, to explore the application of AI technologies in climate risk assessment and governance. His collaboration with the Centre for Climate Engagement at Hughes Hall and the World Economic Forum, helps to bring knowledge on global climate governance to policymakers, stakeholders, and the general public. His research interest is about the disaster impact assessment and post-disaster management.


Yixin Hu is a Ph.D. Student on a joint program of University of East Anglia and Southern University of Science and Technology from 2018 to 2022. Before that, she has been working as a research assistant for the Journal of Management World at the Development and Research Centre of the State Council for two years. She currently specialises in disaster risk management and climate change economics.


Zhiqiang Yin is a Ph.D. Student at University of East Anglia. He received training in environmental science before joining in UEA. His research interest is about disaster impact assessment and risk management.


Danyang Cheng is a Ph.D. Student at department of earth system science, Tsinghua university. Researches focus on sustainable development assessment based on Inclusive Wealth Index.


Tianyang Lei is a Ph.D. Student at the Department of Earth System Science at Tsinghua University in 2019. She is interested in estimating carbon emissions of heavy industries at point source.


Can Cui is a Ph.D. Student at the Department of Earth System Science at Tsinghua University. Her research interests are about CO2 emission accounts and low-carbon development of cities, and the impact of air pollution and climate change on human activities.


Qiaoling Liu is a Associate Professor at University of International Business and Economics and visiting PGR student at University of East Anglia from Oct. 2018 to Oct. 2019. She specialises in climate change economics and computable general equilibrium models. She has authored several peer-reviewed papers, got Nantional Scholarship, second prize of the1st and 3rd"Chinese College Student Competiton on Energy Economics", first prize of Doctor Academic Scholarship of UIBE. Reseaech area: Input-Output Analysis of "one belt one road" countries; City level carbon emission reduction during industrial structure upgrading in China.


Xingyu Wang is Ph.D. Student at University of International Business and Economics and visiting PGR student at University of East Anglia from Oct. 2018 to Sep. 2019. She specialises in environmental trade and climate change economics. She has authored several peer-reviewed papers and joint 3 National Social Science Major Projects. During Nov. 2017 to Jun. 2018, she also served as a research assistant in China Development Bank, assisting reports about “One Belt One Road” and China-Africa Cooperation Forum.


Yin Long is an Associate Professor in Department of Environment System, Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, The University of Tokyo, Japan. At the same time, she is working at Centre for Low Carbon Society Strategy of Japan Science and Technology as a guest researcher. After she got master degree in Keio University, Japan, she worked as an assistant researcher in National Institution of Environment Studies (NIES), Japan. Her research interests cover from spatial analysis to energy economics.


Zengkai Zhang is a Professor and doctoral supervisor of the Department of Management and Economics at Tianjin University. In 2015, he received a doctor's degree in Management from Xi 'an Jiaotong University, and his doctoral dissertation was selected as the outstanding doctoral dissertation of Shaanxi Province. His research interests include energy and environmental policy analysis and evaluation, global industrial division of labor and climate change. The main research results have been published in Nature Climate Change, One Earth, Ecological Economics, Energy Economics and other journals. He has won the first prize of Science and Technology Award of Shaanxi Higher Education Institutions and the first prize of Excellent Paper of the First Annual Conference on Climate Change Economics.


Shuai Shao is a Professor of Business School of East China University of Science and Technology, Executive Director of Research Center for Energy Economics and Environmental Management, visiting Scholar of Oxford University. He is the winner of National Science Foundation for Outstanding Young Scholars, National "Ten Thousand Talents Program" Young Top Talent, "New Century Outstanding Talent" of Ministry of Education, Shanghai "Shuguang Scholar", "Shanghai Social Science Newcomer". His research interests include energy Economics and environmental policy, urban and regional sustainable development. He is the deputy editor of Environmental Economics Research and the field editor of Asian Economics Letters.


Yangchun Bai is a Postgraduate Student of Population, Resources and Environmental Economics at the Blue-Green Development Institute of Shandong University (Weihai). Her currently research focuses on the compilation of the Global Input-Output Table (MRIO), climate change and carbon emissions accounting.


Peipei Chen is a Ph.D. Student at the Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction, University College London (UCL). She was a visiting student at the Energy, Climate, and Environment Program, International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis in 2021, and Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance, the University of Cambridge in 2019. Her research focuses on energy economics, input-output modelling, and energy transitions analysis. Her research has been published in journals including Nature Energy, Applied Energy, Energy, Journal of Industrial Ecology, Journal of Environmental Management.


Zhu Deng is a Ph.D Student at the Department of Earth System Science, Tsinghua University. His research interests include building high-resolution Carbon emission inventories and applying big data to ecological environment. He is a core member of the Global Real-time Carbon Data (Carbon Monitor).


Xinyu Dou is a Ph.D. Student in the Department of Earth System Science at Tsinghua University. His research interests include urban metabolism and emission inventory. She focuses on the carbon footprint of cities that are heavily dependent on resources from other regions from the perspective of urban metabolism.


Yaqin Guo is a Postgraduate Researcher at Institute of HUST. Her research interest is Input-output analysis and the dynamic technology-based emission factor model for heavy metal emission account. She has published 2 papers in Journal of Environmental Management and Journal of Cleaner Production.


Qi He, Assistant Researcher and master supervisor in the Research Institute of Global Value Chains in University of International Business and Economics (Beijing, China). Her research interests include green global value chain, trade and environment, climate change and low carbon cities, environmental justice. She has published over 10 academic papers and carried out a project funded from China Postdoctoral Science Foundation. Jianghua Liu is an Assistant Professor in University of Shanghai Finance and Economics and visiting scholar of University of East Anglia.


Kun Peng is a Postgraduate Researcher at Institute of Blue and Green Development, Shandong University (Wei hai). His research interest is Dynamic Material Flow analysis, Input-output analysis and Life Cycle analysis for Economic-Resource-Environment systems. He has published 5 papers in peer-reviewed journals, such as One Earth, Renewable& Sustainable Energy Reviews, and Journal of Cleaner Production.


Qingsong is a Ph.D. Student at the Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction in University College London. Research direction: Climate change and carbon accounting.


Dr. Huiqing Wang is a Ph.D. Student in BOC Research Institute. She received her Ph.D.in Finance from University of International Business and Economics. Huiqing has won a dozen of prizes including National Scholarship, Excellent Graduates in Beijing, first-class Academic scholarship. Her current research focuses on Green finance, climate investment and financing. She has published papers in journals such as Energy Economics、Proceedings of the Royal Society A: Mathematical Physical and Engineering Sciences、Journal of Environmental Management.


Sili Zhou is a Postgraduate Researcher at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. His research focuses on energy related heavy metals inventory.


Pan He is a Lecturer at Cardiff University. She is broadly interested in exploring how human behaviours affect environment, and in examining how policy can lead to consumer behaviour change that improves sustainability. Her current research focuses on investigating how food consumption patterns result in specific interconnected environmental and health impacts and what opportunities and challenges are in realizing dietary sustainability.


Jingwen Huo, a PhD Candidate in Tsinghua University, focuses on construction of global multi-regional input-output table (MRIO), climate change policy, trade carbon emission reduction policy and sustainable development pathway.


Qi Huang is a Postgraduate Student of Population, Resources and Environmental Economics at the Blue-Green Development Institute of Shandong University (Weihai). Research interests are on the consumption-based carbon emission and production-based emission at subnational level.


Man Li is a second-year Ph.D. Student majored in population, resources and environmental economics at Institute of Blue and Green Development, Shandong University (Weihai). Her current research mainly focuses on input-output analysis of marine economy, maritime economy-resources-environment sustainable development. She has authored several peer-reviewed SCI/CSSCI papers.


Shuping Li currently is a Postgraduate Student majored in Economics of Population,Resources and Environment at Institute of Blue and Green Development,Weihai Institute of Interdisciplinary Research,Shandong University. Now,her research interest are about Input-Output analysis, Climate Change and Energy Economics.


Yukun Qian is a Ph.D. Student, Department of Earth System Sciences, Tsinghua University. Research interests are on the compiling of Chinese city-level multi-regional input-output table (MRIO) and the consumption-based carbon emission accounting at city level.


Danbo Chen is a Ph.D. Candidate in Climate and Environmental Economics, at the School of Urban and Regional Science, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE). Her main research interests include environmental and economic prediction and policy simulation analysis, focusing on compound disaster assessment and urban resilience construction, etc.


Qi Hao is a Ph.D Student in the Department of Earth System Science, Tsinghua University. He is particularly interested in carbon emissions database development for industrial parks, greenhouse gas emissions mitigation and climate change adaptation in industrial parks, etc.


Xi Liu is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Institute of Blue and Green Development, Shandong University (Weihai). She is graduated from Tianjin University. Her research focuses included renewable energy transition and sustainable development goals, air pollution and carbon emissions co-mitigation strategies in iron and steel industry, virtual water trade and energy system modelling, etc. She has published 10 peer-reviewed papers in Water Research, Energy Policy, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Applied Energy, Journal of Cleaner Production, Environmental Pollution, etc. She is the PI of one project funded by China Postdoctoral Science Foundation.


Huaxi Peng, holds a bachelor degree in finance from the University of Manchester and a master degree in global management of natural resources from University College London. His current research direction is the emission reduction path of global coal-fired power plants and climate change and carbon emission accounting.


Yida Sun is a Ph.D. Student at department of earth system science, Tsinghua university. His main research interests are economic risk assessment of major public health emergencies and energy economics based on input-output models.


Chang Tan is a Ph.D. Student at department of earth system science, Tsinghua university. Her main research interests include embodied carbon emission flows in industrial chains and global low-carbon development paths.


Wang Jinglei is a Postgraduate Student of Population, Resources and Environmental Economics at the Blue-Green Development Institute of Shandong University (Weihai). Her currently research focuses on the the calculation of financial institutions' carbon emissions embodied in equity portfolios, climate change and carbon emissions accounting.


Qianyu Xue, a Postgraduate Student of population, resources and environmental economics in the Blue Green Development Research Institute of Shandong University. At present,her main research direction is the inclusive wealth index.


Fan Yang is currently a Ph.D. Student in Industrial Security Governance, Inha University. His research focuses on environmental and economic issues in sustainable energy transition.


Weichen Zhao, a Ph.D. Student in Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction, University College London(UCL), focuses on environment economic and policy, climate change and emission accounts.


Xinyi Wu is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction at University College London (UCL). Her main research interests are climate change policies, low-carbon technology innovation, and industrial decarbonization pathway & cost.


Yiting Xu is a Ph.D. Student at The Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction. His research mainly focuses on the carbon emission mitigation, explores the mitigation pathway based different low-carbon technologies, calculates the total investments according to the different pathway, and designs the optimal mitigation pathway. He has published 8 peer-reviewed papers, and participated in the “Research on the future power grid pattern of China” of Chinese Academy of Engineering.


Siyi Kan received her Ph.D. from Peking University in 2022. She then joined the CEADs team as a Postdoctoral Researcher at University College London. Her main research interests include input-output accounting of environmental resource system, socioeconomic and environmental resource coupling analysis, land use change and carbon emission accounting, carbon emission reduction effect and regulation analysis of land use, etc.


Shijun Ma, a Ph.D. Student in Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction, University College London(UCL), focuses on Low carbon pathway of global oil refineries and waste management.


Yuxin Chen is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Earth System Sciences at Tsinghua University. Her main research interests include the economics of climate change, carbon emission accounting of financial firms, and greenhouse gas emission inventory.


He Yixu is currently an Undergraduate Student in Geographic science at East China Normal University and will pursue a direct PhD degree in Ecology at the Department of Earth System Science, Tsinghua University. Her current research interests are in the development of a global power plant emission database, and risk identification and adaptation assessment of global power plants under extreme climate events.
